(KNSI) – A beer made for a beloved St. Cloud area businessman and philanthropist will be brewed again to honor his legacy and support a cause near his heart.
Bob Feuling owned Westside Liquors and died in February 2022 at 86. Longtime employee Myron Kottschade worked with him for 22 years and wanted to do something in Bob’s memory after his passing. He contacted Lupulin Brewing in Big Lake and came up with Bob Feuling Brown Ale.
Kottschade says it was such a big hit they decided to do it again. “It was a limited release we did last year, and we sold it at all eight Westside stores and some bars and restaurants in the area. And it went over really well. And we still got people asking if it’s coming back.”
The answer was a hearty yes.
Four packs of the beer go on sale at all eight Westside Liquor locations on Friday, October 13th, for $12.99. “All our proceeds are going to go to March of Dimes, which is a charity that was dear to Bob. So, we’re all excited about it coming back again,” says Kottschade.
The beer will also be on tap at Anton’s in Waite Park, Boulder Taphouse in St. Cloud, Hub Supper Club in Burtrum, H.R. Pesty’s in Waite Park, Lucky’s Salon in Swanville, Lupulin Brewing in Big Lake and Pioneer Place on Fifth in St. Cloud.
As much as Bob was known for owning and operating successful liquor stores, he was also known to many as a man who loved and cared for the people around him, his employees, and their families, treating them like family, too. His son Rick tells KNSI News that throughout his whole life, he lost count of the people who told him they saw Bob as a second father to them. Rick says his dad had a deep faith in people and truly cared. He added anyone who showed up on the doorstep and asked for help; his dad was glad to give it.
