Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota Merging With Little Falls Chapter

(KNSI) – The Boys and Girls Clubs chapters in Little Falls and St. Cloud are merging.

Uniting together will allow for expanded programs and services, plus more extensive training for staff at the Little Falls club. Some examples include CareerSTART, which focuses on workforce readiness, Edmentum, which teaches literacy and math skills through games, and the Youth Arts Initiative.

The two organizations had already been connected via a management agreement. Bringing the Little Falls Boys and Girls Club into the fold will turn the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota into one of the largest chapters in the country, with more than 4,000 children served each year.

The formalized partnership helps control costs and creates a more sustainable organization. Central Minnesota President and CEO Mary Swingle says, “The service they provide to youth and families in their community is absolutely critical to fulfilling Boys & Girls Club’s mission. By coming together, our Clubs can share resources to serve even more kids. We believe in the power of partnership, and we are excited to achieve greater impact, together.”

Little Falls Boys & Girls Club advocate Phil Smith says, “The Little Falls Club has already benefited greatly over the past nine months through the management agreement with Central Minnesota, and we know our community’s youth will have expanded services and opportunities through this partnership.”
