(KNSI) – Coborn’s Liquor has applied to sell edible marijuana products at its Cooper Avenue store in St. Cloud.

Until recently, liquor stores were prohibited from offering THC-infused edibles for sale. However, a change during the 2023 Minnesota Legislative Session amended the statute to allow liquor stores to sell edible cannabinoid products.

St. Cloud’s marijuana ordinance banned liquor stores from selling the products; however, the state’s change superseded the city’s rules.

While the city clerk’s office recommended approval, other departments are reviewing the application. A license will only be issued if everyone in the review process gives the okay.

The application is included in the consent agenda for Monday’s city council meeting.

The store is already licensed to sell tobacco and alcohol.
