(KNSI) – A major St. Cloud construction project is over.

The city’s engineering department says Cooper Avenue South from Roosevelt Road to 22nd Street South is reopened. It had been shut down since the spring.

Striping and all other pavement touchups are finished, but landscaping will result in crews in the area at times into 2024. The $6 million-plus project included sanitary sewer, water main, street reconstruction, curb and gutter, storm drain, sidewalk, and street lighting replacement.

The work was originally scheduled for last year, but material and crew delays pushed it to 2023. Cooper Avenue is one of the primary roadways on the city’s south end and connects to Interstate 94.
