Sports Wrap: ROCORI, Sartell Volleyball Win in Straight Sets, Remain on Course for Battle of Unbeatens Tuesday

Central Lakes Conference

ROCORI 3, St. Cloud Tech 0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-14): ROCORI held the Tigers to only 15 total kills. The Spartans are still undefeated and are looking at hosting a battle of the unbeatens next Tuesday against Sartell. ROCORI will need to get past Little Falls on Monday first, though.

Sartell 3, Apollo 0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-11): Brenna McClure leads the Sabre attack for a second straight match with 11 kills. Abby Haus had five aces from the service line. Grace Schulte picked up 28 assists.

Sauk Rapids-Rice 3, Fergus Falls 2 (25-15, 25-11, 20-25, 18-25, 15-7): The Storm avoid the letdown after a big victory against Alexandria by winning in five. It was also the third match in four days for SR-R. Ava Athman shined with 21 kills and 12 digs. Stella Lambaere added nine kills and 14 digs.

Granite Ridge Conference

Cathedral 3, Foley 0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-21): Cathedral wins in straight sets again, albeit close ones. They are starting to find their stride in mid-September, just like last year’s squad.

Albany 3, Pierz 0 (25-16, 25-9, 25-13): The Huskies improve to 13-1 overall and are still unbeaten in the Granite Ridge Conference. Paige Lauer led Albany with 12 digs and was a perfect 14/14 on serves. Hannah Klein and Brynn Panek were the main offensive threats. They also combined for five aces as a duo. Albany at Cathedral will be broadcast on KNSI on Thursday, September 28th.
