(KNSI) – Minneapolis-St. Paul International is still soaring high in the J.D. Power 2023 North America Airport Satisfaction Study rankings, although it has been nudged out of the top spot.
Fellow Delta hub, Detroit Metro, inched ahead of MSP, outscoring it 800-796. The airports were one and two in the mega category. The study judges on six broad categories, including terminal facilities, airport arrival and departure, baggage claim, security check, check-in, and food, beverage, and retail.
The Twin Cities center is the only facility in the mega category to make the top three for three consecutive years. J.D. Power says doing well in the rankings is important as travelers tend to spend more money when they feel satisified with a terminal.
Mega airports have at least 33 million passengers per year. Tampa was first in the large category, which services between 10 and 32.9 million passengers, and Indianapolis led the medium category.
J.D. Power has been conducting the survey for 18 years. It relies on over 27,000 responses to develop its list.
