(KNSI) – Take a Halloween-themed stroll in Sauk Centre with the Stearns History Museum in October.

The Sundown Cemetery Tour will take up to 50 guests through Greenwood Cemetery. Museum Program Director Caitlin Carlson gave KNSI a sneak peek at what’s coming, including the grave of the town’s most famous author. “Sinclair Lewis is there. I’m sure we’ll talk about him. He won’t be the focus of the tour or anything, but you can’t not talk about him. But one family I’ve been doing some research on is the DuBois family, a family of doctors in Sauk Center who have an interesting history. So that’s a little teaser. That’s all I’ll give you for now.”

Carlson says after the tour, the group will head to the Palmer House Hotel. The building has lots of stories and history attached to it. “The Palmer house is famous for being so haunted. So, we thought it was a perfect spot to go have a drink. We’re not going to go to the haunted room. We’re just going to talk a little bit about it and just have a cocktail and then go our separate ways.”

She says it’s a chance for everyone to raise a glass to honor all those who have passed. Carlson and Museum Curator Eric Cheever will bring people on the tour on Saturday, October 7th, at 4:30 p.m.

The spooky event is free to members and $10 for the public. To register, click here or call 320-253-8424.
