(KNSI) — St. Cloud is holding its first Festi-Fall Celebration this Saturday and Sunday.
The Downtown Alliance put together the apple orchard-themed festivities for the 23rd and 24th to bring fall-themed treats, contests, beverages, shopping and a quality experience downtown. Many stores will be offering specials and deals.
Chairwoman Ashley Green invited KNSI News to her shop, the Green Thumb Etc. on West St. Germain Street, to explain a key feature, a contest for the best apple concoction. “They will be judging who has the best apple sweet or treat. It can be a mocktail or beverage. That can include a pastry, something like that. Anything that is entered is available for the public to enjoy. So whoever gets the coveted Golden Apple Award will be able to be on display for the public to be able to purchase and enjoy.”
There are 35 entries from 16 businesses. The judging will happen Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Green says Festi-Fall hopes to take advantage of other downtown events: “The Paramount has Guys and Dolls, and there’s also the Walk for Alzheimer’s at Lake George. Things that are also happening downtown so we can help cross promote everybody and get people excited about the energy that’s going to be happening next weekend.”
The United Way of Central Minnesota is also hosting a food drive on Saturday.
