(KNSI) – One of the original recipients of a Downtown Exterior Improvement Grant is nearly done sprucing up the outside of its business.
Waldo’s Pizza at West St. Germain and 9th Avenue North was awarded a 50% match, up to $10,000, by the St. Cloud Economic Development Authority last fall. Not only has it added a new awning like nearby Dolsie’s Lunch Box Grille and Billig Opticians, but the stucco walls have been cleaned up and repainted for about $30,000.
The parlor has yet to open inside but is taking orders for pick-up or delivery Friday through Sunday. Friday and Saturday hours are 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Waldo’s is open on Sunday from noon to 9:00 p.m.
Waldo’s has had multiple owners over the years, but it has been a fixture in St. Cloud for over three decades. The EDA says funds are still available in the grant program for other businesses looking to upgrade their storefronts.
