(KNSI) – Employees at Xcel Energy helped at a local healthcare facility to mark their annual Day of Service, remembering 9/11.
On Friday, a handful of volunteers did a fall clean-up at the CentraCare Gorecki Guest House. They raked, trimmed up shrubs and perennials, and washed windows at the 28-room short-term lodging facility. It helped spruce up the building, which houses families from out-of-town while a loved one is receiving medical care in St. Cloud.
Last year, nearly 3,000 employees and their families spent a combined 9,300 hours volunteering at over 100 projects. The Day of Service is a tribute to the victims, survivors, and first responders of the terror attacks in 2001.
