(KNSI) – A road closed since May near the prison in St. Cloud will open to traffic on Friday.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation says Minnesota Boulevard/Highway 301 will open to all travelers by 3:00 p.m. Construction led to a five-month detour between 15th Avenue SE/Sherburne County Road 8 and Highway 10.
Crews reconstructed the road surface, updated underground storm sewers, improved roadside drainage, and restored the historic retaining wall along the north side of Highway 301 next to the prison.
The cost of the project was around $4 million.
