(KNSI) – A central Minnesota organization was selected as one of two grant winners this year by the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs.

Recovery Community Network of St. Cloud was awarded $11,640, with $45,000 going to Patriot Assistance Dogs. RCN – St. Cloud says it is creating a resource guide for active service members, families, and veterans focused on central Minnesota. It will be coordinating its efforts with the mayor’s office.

Proceeds raised from the sale of special support our troops themed license plates fund the grant program. RCN – St. Cloud applied when the cycle opened up in October 2022.

MDVA interim commissioner Brad Lindsay says, “Without support from the thousands who are ‘driving home their support’ every day, these grants would not be possible.”

To purchase your SOT plates, visit your local DMV or ask about them at your auto dealership.
