(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is calling for additional restrictions due to this year’s drought.
In Sartell, that means a change to the watering schedule. Homes will be limited to taking care of their lawns only two days per week in a window between 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m., depending on their address. Even numbers can water Monday and Thursday nights. Odd-numbered homes are allowed to run the sprinklers on Tuesday and Friday nights.
Homes can water their lawns for up to one hour each period. City officials say the goal is to avoid having to implement a complete watering ban while still preserving the drinking water supply and having the ability to fight potential fires.
The change goes into effect immediately.
