(KNSI) — The 2023 Minnesota Renaissance Festival opens Saturday, August 19th, in Shakopee, and festivalgoers will have to deal with some changes to the parking situation.

Those who wish to drive to the festival must buy a $10 parking pass ahead of time, use a rideshare service, or use the park and ride option. It’s a $5 bus pass that picks up and drops off from the transit hub lot south of the grounds. Those who use the park and ride option will get a $5 credit called Bus Bucks for the festival, either for merchandise or admission.

For weekends one through three, there are two park and ride lots at Eagle Creek and Canterbury Park. Four park and ride locations will be open starting weekend four. They’re at Eagle Creek, Canterbury Park, the Burnsville Transit Hub and Southbridge Crossing. Five park and ride locations will be open for weekends five through seven. They’re at Eagle Creek, Canterbury Park, the Burnsville Transit Hub, Southbridge Crossing and the Scott County Fairgrounds. Buses run from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., but that time may vary based on traffic and crowds.

The festival runs on weekends and Labor Day through September 29th.
