(KNSI) — CentraCare-St. Cloud Hospital has moved up in the rankings in the U.S. News & World Report‘s latest list of Best Hospitals in the State.
CentraCare has the second highest-rated medical facility, up from third last year and tying with Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis for the spot. The hospital was rated high performing in cardiology, pulmonology and urology and treating 13 conditions and procedures.
The campus got high marks in back surgery, hip replacement, heart bypass surgery, knee replacement and prostate surgery. The report noted the staff is also accomplished at treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, colon cancer, heart attacks, leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and prostate cancer.
The Mayo Clinic in Rochester finished in first place. Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids and M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center finished fourth and fifth.
St. Cloud Hospital was the only facility in central Minnesota to be rated in the top ten.
