(KNSI) – St. Cloud Technical & Community College is turning 75 years old.

SCTCC’s anniversary will be highlighted throughout the academic year, with celebrations with students, employees, and community members. SCTCC will kick off the party for students and employees during its annual Cyclone Alley event on August 23rd. The community will be invited to the celebration on September 27th, which will include the grand opening of the Advanced Manufacturing Lab with an opportunity to check out some historical items.

Additional events are being planned throughout the year. They include two open houses, a time capsule dedication, BrewLäsh fundraiser, and a commencement.

The College was founded in 1948 by Robert Miller with about 100 students in agriculture, business, home economics, machine shop, and auto mechanic classes held in high school shops and classrooms. In 1966 the current location was built, and it has expanded several times over the years. Today more than 3,900 students take classes, and the school offers 90 degrees.

More details about other events will be released in the coming weeks.
