(KNSI) – A crash Friday morning in Morrison County leaves one teenager dead.
He was the lone person involved. The sheriff’s office says 19-year-old Hayden Edstrom was driving in Elmdale Township, east of Upsala, at 3:24 when his Buick Regal left 30th Street and drove in the south ditch for about 100 yards. The car eventually got back onto the road before crossing both lanes and rolling in the north ditch.
Edstrom was unresponsive when crews got to the scene. They were notified as it happened through a crash alert feature on his cell phone. Edstrom had no pulse, and life-saving efforts could not revive him.
Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen says, “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Hayden during this difficult time. We express our gratitude to all the emergency personnel who responded to this scene. Their commitment to serving the community, even in the face of adversity, is commendable and deeply appreciated.”
Also responding to the crash were Mayo Ambulance, Upsala First Response Team, and Upsala Fire Department.
