(KNSI) — Four central Minnesota communities made the top 20 list of the safest cities in the state.
The list, compiled by home security review company Safewise, ranks Big Lake the fourth safest in the state. Becker came in at number eight, Cold Spring was ranked tenth, and St. Joseph was rated 14th.
The survey was compiled with FBI crime statistics to rank cities in each state and across the country. The top 20 cities reported zero murders and no more than one violent crime per 1,000 residents.
Montevideo made the top for most safe, followed by Corcoran. Both cities had zero murders, rapes, robberies, burglaries, larceny, and motor vehicle thefts.
