(KNSI) – Tuesday is the 40th annual National Night Out celebration.
There will be block parties across central Minnesota, including St. Cloud, Sauk Rapids, and Waite Park.
St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis spoke about the events during his weekly address. “This is a public safety initiative that started a long time ago goes all over the country, it’s an opportunity to help reduce crime in your neighborhood, one of the best ways to do that is to get to know your neighbors.”
Police departments, fire departments and city leaders will be making stops all over town.
Kleis talked about how we can use the time to get acquainted with the people who live around us. “Throughout the city of St. Cloud, actually throughout the nation, where you get together, have maybe a barbecue or gather outside, I’ll be at a number of those.”
