(KNSI) — For the second time in less than a week, central Minnesota is cleaning up after a bout with severe weather.

Storms blew up early Monday afternoon, dropping much needed rain but also dropping hail and bringing high winds to the area. According to the National Weather Service, around 3:00, 12 to 18 inch trees were reported down, and shingles were blown off rooftops around the Albany area. A 53-mile-an-hour wind gust was recorded near the St. Cloud Regional Airport just before 3:52. Dime to quarter sized hail was also reported near Clearwater between 3:45 and 4:00. The worst damage happened near White Bear Lake, Rosemount and Hudson, Wisconsin.

Forecasters say it was “feast or famine” when it came to who got the most rain. Near Avon, 1.71″ of rain was reported, but .58″ was reported at St. Cloud Regional Airport.

July 19th, the area also saw severe weather, which brought high winds, heavy rain, and hail, leaving behind power outages and downed trees.

Tuesday, the area is at a marginal risk for severe weather, according to the Storm Prediction Center. Thunderstorms appear likely late Tuesday night and into early Wednesday morning.
