The Wall That Heals at Pinewood Elementary in Monticello July 20th

(KNSI) — The traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall will stop on its national tour at Pinewood Elementary School in Monticello starting Thursday.

The local event is called Monticello Supporting Veterans. The Wall That Heals is in its 28th year and includes an education center and a three-quarter scale replica of the wall in Washington, D.C. It has all 58,281 names of Americans who died during the war.

It opens on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. and will be accessible 24 hours a day until Sunday at 2:00 p.m. There is no charge.

Since its dedication on Veterans Day 1996, the traveling exhibit has traveled more than 13,000 miles and had more than 200,000 visitors in more than 700 communities.
