(KNSI) – A disc golf course in Sartell has finished a $12,000 expansion.
The city enlisted designers Tim Mackey and Todd Grundhoefer to help upgrade the Northside Park course from 13 to 18 holes. Mackey spoke with KNSI News shortly after the work was done and said it’s a gem. “It should be a nice amenity and a nice upgrade [and a] destination-type course for the city of Sartell. It goes around the perimeter of the park through the woods out of the woods. Pretty flat, but very challenging holes. And I think they’re pretty excited about it over in Sartell.”
Mackey tells KNSI that the course should help continue to grow the sport in central Minnesota. “I’m meeting with some of the city officials to get a strategy and a kind of a plan for future tournaments, a grand opening, maybe getting some service clubs involved with future course development.”
That meeting takes place Friday morning.
