(KNSI) — Eleven St. Cloud area organizations will be getting a boost thanks to the latest Central Minnesota Difference Maker and Thomas Ritche Youth Grant Rounds.
The difference maker grant goes to a program that encourages positive change in central Minnesota through community engagement, eduation, economics and mental health. Three organizations received funding this round.
The Yes Network received $20,000 for expanding afterschool programming in St. Cloud. The Ellison Center received $20,000 for its mental health, racial equity, and parent support program. Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid in St. Cloud received $16,000 for its community legal clinic at Promise Neighborhood.
The Thomas Ritsche Youth Grant focuses on youth projects and programs. Eight grants were handed out.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota, GREAT Theatre, Paramount Center for the Arts and Lutheran Social Services got $5,000 each to help with various youth programs.
The Yes Network, Junior Achievement North, and Friends of Career Solutions all received $6,700 to help with prgrams that address mental health, train kids for careers and personal finances.
A total of $99,400 was awarded by the two competitive grants.
