(KNSI) – Cold Spring will hold a public hearing about possibly changing the city council’s meeting time.
Meetings are currently held at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month but are looking at moving the meetings to 5:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Some department heads have asked for the change to let them attend their children’s events on Tuesdays.
The council voted 4-1 to hold the public hearing, with Councilman Mike Fall the lone no vote. He feels the meeting times were set in January and shouldn’t be changed right now. There are concerns the first meeting of the month wouldn’t be televised live on ROCORI Area TV Channel 10 due to a conflict with the Rockville council meeting. However, the Cold Spring meeting would still be live-streamed online.
The hearing will likely take place in early August.
