Two Kids Hurt After Tube Crashes Into Dock Near St. Joseph

(KNSI) – A child was seriously hurt and another injured after the tube they were being pulled on crashed into a dock on an area lake.

First responders were called to Watab Lake in St. Wendel Township around 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says the two juveniles were pulled behind a jet ski driven by a St. Joseph man when the tube hit the dock. The 42-year-old was riding close to shore at the time.

One child was taken to CentraCare-St. Cloud Hospital by ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries. The other was rushed to Children’s Hospital by helicopter with serious injuries.

Deputies say the case is under investigation, and alcohol is believed to be a factor.
