(KNSI) – A 60-year-old Sauk Rapids man was pronounced dead at the scene of a Sunday morning crash in Sherburne County.
The two-vehicle accident happened at 9:45 at the intersection of County Roads 11 and 16 in Santiago Township. Two Silverado pickup trucks were involved. Noel Ashcroft was heading west on 16, which has a stop sign. He pulled into the intersection in front of the other truck, which was traveling south. Traffic on County Road 11 has the right of way.
Ashcroft was not wearing a seat belt. The other driver, a 27-year-old man from Foley was taken to the hospital and has since been released.
