(KNSI) – A St. Cloud company wants to help put a safe roof over the head of two Minnesota families.
Oberg Roofing and Remodeling is taking applications for its second annual Roof Rescue Program. CEO Celeb Oberg stopped by the KNSI Studios and says one winner will be a family, while the other will be a veteran. “We have on our website is somewhere where you can go, and you can nominate [someone]. Tell a little story about the person. The story really helps [because] it gives us a way to really look into,’is this the person that is right for us?’ because we do have a committee that will sit down and will go through all the nominations, and will pick the ones that we think deserves it the best.”
Oberg talked to KNSI News about the importance of the program and giving back to the community. “What we found is that there’s an absolute need for some people out there that just need a new roof and they can’t afford it for other means. Maybe they got hit by storm damage and can’t afford a new roof, but they got a leak or something and it might be causing some interior damage. And we want to stop it before it gets too bad.”
The company has earmarked $15,000 for each project.
Nominations for a family in need are accepted now through midnight on July 19th. Military nominations are accepted between August 1st and September 19th. The work should be completed this fall.
