(KNSI) — The St. Cloud City Council has a full plate ahead of them at Monday’s meeting.

A public hearing is set on St. Cloud State University’s request to sell alcohol campus-wide. The university can sell beer and wine at sporting facilities, such as the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center, Hallenbeck Hall and Huskey Stadium.

College officials want to be able to sell beer and wine during alumni and fundraiser events. There are also plans to use Atwood Center for weddings. SCSU administrators say alcohol wouldn’t be allowed at student events.

St. Cloud will honor a photographer with a sharp eye as the 2023 Greater St. Cloud photo Contest winner. First place will get $500, second place will get $300, and third will get $200. Winning photos and videos will be used in future city marketing efforts. Entries were taken between September 2022 and March 2023.

St. Cloud will also welcome a delegation from sister city Spalt, Germany. They are in town for the first time since the pandemic. Mayor Dave Kleis will reaffirm the partnership between the two communities.

The meeting gets underway at 6:00 p.m.
