(KNSI) – A Rockville man has been charged with illegal possession of weapons and drugs after a search warrant was executed earlier this week.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office and two police task force units raided a home in the 300-block of Broadway Street East on Wednesday morning, where they found Timothy Aaron Mitchell in a basement bedroom. During the search, officers say they found more than an ounce of methamphetamine. Investigators also uncovered eight meth pipes and numerous needles throughout the basement bedroom.
According to the criminal complaint, two .22 caliber rifles under his bed. He said the guns were from his deceased father. During an interview, the 46-year-old admitted that everything in the basement was his.
He has been charged with first degree possesion of a dangerous weapon and drugs and dangerous weapon possesion of ammo with a prior felony conviction. Bail was set at $100,000. His next court date is July 18th.
A check of Mitchell’s record shows he’s prohibited from owning guns because of an assault conviction in Kandiyohi County in June 2017.
