(KNSI) – St. Cloud State University is the only Minnesota school awarded a special grant for its study abroad program.
The U.S. Department of State’s Increase and Diversify Education Abroad for U.S. Students Program selected SCSU as one of just 34 institutions nationwide to get $34,000 to expand its international study programs. Campus President Robbyn Wacker told Univesity News that SCSU is firmly committed to diversity, equity and inclusion and fostering the life-changing experiences of studying abroad.
SCSU’s Indigenous Knowledge and Cultural Exchange Grant was submitted by Angie Witte, Associate Director of Multicultural Student Services, in collaboration with the Center for International Studies and Iyekiyapiwin Darlene St. Clair, Director of the Multicultural Resource Center and Associate Professor.
Since 2016, the IDEAS Program has awarded 179 grants to 173 U.S. colleges and universities in 49 states and territories to create, expand and diversify their U.S. study abroad programs in 71 countries across all world regions.
