(KNSI) – CentraCare has a new feather in its cap after being recognized with another prestigious award.

The St. Cloud Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has been named Minnesota’s first and only NICU to receive a Silver Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Acute and Critical-Care Nurses.

The award recognizes excellence in evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes, staff engagement, and a healthy work environment.

It’s the latest in a series of awards the central Minnesota medical provider has won. In April, CentraCare was named Lifesource’s partner of the year for its organ donation program and in March it was named one of the best cardiovascular hospitals. U.S. News and World Report has ranked the facility as one of Minnesota’s best hospitals for years.
