(KNSI) – St. Cloud State University has been awarded two grants to provide updated training to workers from central Minnesota companies.

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development awarded $50,000 to the university to help Pinnacle Climate Technologies and $216,000 to assist Landwehr Construction Inc. The training will be conducted through SCSU’s Minnesota Job Skills Partnership.

Both companies will get customized help to develop ways to meet business-specific needs to create a workforce with cutting-edge knowledge and skills. Officials say the training is critical to meet future needs.

Pinnacle Climate Technologies provides climate control solutions to commercial, industrial, agricultural and retail customers worldwide. As a global leader with clients in 60 countries, the company is experiencing rapid growth and will reach $74 million in sales in 2023.

Landwehr is a fifth-generation, family-owned business since 1895. The construction industry has continually advanced, and LCI has invested in heavy machinery and autonomous construction vehicles, which require highly-trained and knowledgeable employees.
