(KNSI) – Two St. Cloud students were part of the Falcon View Connections Academy 2023 graduating class.

Nasra Ismail and Veda Kampa walked across a stage during an in-person ceremony in Lake Elmo on Sunday. Principal Anne Wasmund says, “Even though we are a full-time online school, it’s wonderful to be able to host an in-person commencement and give these students the recognition they deserve.”

The academy was opened in 2019 and features state-certified instructors. It allows students to customize their academic experience to their specific needs.

The student speaker at the commencement was Ella Sorenson of Miltona. She is a snowboarder with an intense schedule of practices and competitions that takes her around the country.

Falcon View officials say that the graduates plan to begin attending college, enter the military, or join the workforce in the coming months.

District 742 will be starting its own virtual academy in the fall.
