(KNSI) – A 25-year-old motorcyclist has died after allegedly trying to run from police Saturday afternoon.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, just before 2:15, three bikes were speeding south on Highway 15. A St. Cloud Police officer spotted them and tried to pull them over, but they were unable to keep up due to their high rate of speed. The group attempted to exit onto 33rd Street South when one of the drivers, identified as Jacob Charles Olson of St. Cloud, lost control of his bike and struck the guardrail He was thrown from his motorcycle and rushed to CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital where he died.
The state patrol is still investigating.
There is no report on the identity of the other two drivers or if they have been located.
