(KNSI) — A GoFundMe page has been launched for a three-year-old girl critically injured in a crash that killed a central Minnesota man.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol’s incident report, 32-year-old Alexander John Ripka of Rice was traveling to help a friend on a farm the morning of June 1st when he was hit head on by a driver going south in the northbound lanes. Ripka was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Nevaeh Ripka was in the vehicle with her dad, asleep and buckled into her car seat on her way to her grandparents’ house, where she would stay while her dad was working. Nevaeh was seriously injured in the crash and airlifted to Gillette Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The page says she underwent emergency surgery to relieve the pressure on her brain. She is “fighting hard for her life” and is on life support in the ICU at Children’s.
Money raised will go for Nevaeh’s medical expenses and to pay for Ripka’s funeral.
