(KNSI) — Voting closes Monday for the Sartell Police Department to get a grant for its K9 program.

The department has entered a contest to secure a grant from a private company named Aftermath. The company bases the winner on the agency that receives the most votes.

The public can help by visiting the K9 Grant page’s daily Facebook post and commenting “Sartell Police Department, Sartell, Minnesota.” Follow and comment on the daily Instagram post with “Sartell Police Department, Sartell, Minnesota,” and by following the link here.

The department has been without a K9 team for ten years and estimates it will take about $10,000 to restart the program.
