(KNSI) – The United Way of Central Minnesota has secured a $246,950 grant to support four area non-profits.
The money will help the groups improve their facilities and information technology systems. The organizations will also get assistance to update programming and expand in-house training for staff.
The Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Summer Enrichment Grant creates a partnership between the United Way and the D Blake Center, Higher Works Collaborative, Promise Neighborhood of Central Minnesota, and Too Much Talent. It will focus on enhancing youth programming while schools are on vacation.
The money comes from the federal and state government and is earmarked for groups in the United Way’s Black Youth Network. Too Much Talent recently was awarded a Main Street Revitalization Program grant of over $31,000, as well, to renovate the former Ace Bar in east St. Cloud.
