(KNSI) – Waite Park’s Family Fun Fest is looking to the sky, inspired by Disney Pixar’s film, “Up!”

On Tuesday, June 6th, the event is teaming up with Saint Cloud State University Planetarium for four shows. Planetarium director Rachel Humphrey says the roughly 75-minute presentations will have two parts. The first is the movie, “Cosmic Colors.”

“It talks about how humans perceive different types of radiation that the sun emits. A lot of that is visible light but there are also other types of energy that the sun emits as well. So, it’s all about the electromagnetic spectrum.”

Humphrey says “A Tour of the Night Sky” will follow.

“That is the interactive portion of the show where everybody can ask questions and we go off on all sorts of tangents, you know, depending on what people in the audience have questions about.”

Humphrey says the night sky segment is a good way to keep younger children interested. In the summer, several of the zodiac constellations are visible like Cancer, Leo, and Virgo. Shuttles will leave The Ledge Amphitheater for shows at 10:00 a.m., noon, 2:00 p.m., and 4:00 on Tuesday, June 6th. The shows are for ages three and up.

Tickets are free and are available at Waite Park City Hall.
