(KNSI) — You’ve heard the phrase, “Life’s short, eat dessert first,” and dessert is on the menu for Thursday’s St. Cloud Area Restaurant Week offerings.

The mini cheesecakes are the highlight of Christine’s Cheesecakes (Christine’s Sweet Confections). The cheesecakes may be mini, but they pack a big flavor punch. She has over 200 custom flavors. Seriously. From chocolate, vanilla and strawberry to almond amaretto chocolate chip, orange dreamsicle, and salted nut roll, or something you dream up, see the menu here. 2152 Frontage Road North, Waite Park

Dolsie’s Lunchbox Grille has the delicious breakfast and lunch fare you’ve come to know, like hearty soups, cool, crunchy salads or a sandwich you can really sink your teeth into but save room for dessert and don’t walk past the bakery case. The sweet treats are made in house, and the restaurant week specialty here is the cupcakes. Strawberry delight and lemon drop are lovely for spring, or try the light but super flavorful death by chocolate. 810 W St Germain St, St. Cloud

If ice cream is more your thing, Jupiter Moon’s creamy dreamy scoops are where it’s at for restaurant week. Try a flight with five scoops of your choice. Handcrafted in small batches, Jupiter Moon uses local and sustainable ingredients as much as possible. There are 20 rotating flavors, including Saturday morning cartoons which sounds exactly like what it is. It’s a throwback in a bowl that contains Lucky Charms marshmallows blended in sweet cereal milk. Iced coffee lovers will enjoy slurping down a scoop of espresso or try the tropical treat flamingos in space. There are vegan and non-dairy options, too. 15 E Minnesota Street, Suite 108, St. Joseph

A new spot, Milly’s House Caribbean Food, serves up global flavors from Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela and more. The feature here is the morir sonando juice. Translated, it’s “sweet departure,” and it is a sweet departure to the taste of the drips on your hands as a kid – or adult; I’m not here to judge – when you couldn’t eat your creamsicle fast enough on those hot sunny days. It’s a staple of Dominican summer cuisine. Milly’s has an order window at Gateway International Plaza. 83 10th Ave South, Waite Park

Mixin’ It Up Gluten Free Bakery has loaded cupcakes as the highlight, and they’re loaded with flavor. Fun and fruity to decadent and chocolaty, there is a rotating menu from which to choose. They also have bars, cakes, pies, muffins, cookies, donuts, rolls, and bread. Mixin’ It Up has non-dairy and vegan options, too. They also create custom cakes and host cake and cookie decorating events. 2152 Frontage Road North, Waite Park

The Patagonia is frying up churros for its dessert offering. Hot, fresh and sugary, they come in plain, apple, vanilla, or caramel. Highlighting dishes from the chef’s native land of Argentina in the Patagonia region of South America, the menu has Mexican flavors, too. Authentic as it gets without packing a suitcase. 125 5th Ave S, St. Cloud

Did you know The Skatin’ Place also offered state fair mini donut nachos? After working up an appetite roller skating, bopping around in the bounce house (for kids 12 and under, only. I checked), playing laser tag or defeating Space Invaders at the mammoth arcade, these mini donut nachos come topped with a choice of flavors. 3302 Southway Dr, St. Cloud
