(KNSI) — To commemorate Memorial Day, the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs will host special ceremonies at each of the three State Veterans Cemeteries on Sunday, May 28th.

A press release from the MDVA says community members are invited to attend the event to honor and remember servicemembers in Minnesota who made the ultimate sacrifice and show support for the families left behind.

The event starts at 2:00 p.m. The program will include military honor guards, music and a guest speaker. At the cemetery in Little Falls, music will be provided by the Richfield Symphonic Band starting at 1:30. In Duluth, the 34th Infantry Division Red Bull Boots and Brass Band will perform. At the cemetery in Preston, music will be from the 34th Infantry Division Red Bull Brass Quintet.

Due to the high number of attendees expected, the public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs and carpool.
