(KNSI) — Explore Minnesota has a cool way for people to eat their way through the state this summer.

Check in for the Minnesota Scoop Passport opens Monday, May 15th.

Here’s how it works. People can sign up for the mobile passport exclusive with attractions, retailers and restaurants offering deals and discounts. The passport is delivered via text message and email and is ready to use immediately. It can be saved to the phone, and there’s no app to download. (It will ask you to download the Explore Minnesota app, but you don’t have to.) When visiting a business, pull up the passport and present it to a staff member to redeem the available discounts.

Some participating businesses include Jupiter Moon Ice Cream in St. Joseph, Lindy Scoop in Little Falls, Sweet Escape in Annandale and Litchfield, What’s the Scoop in Buffalo and St. Michael, and Purple Parlor in Sauk Centre.
