(KNSI) — Family and friends are rallying around a small town business devastated by fire last week.
Clearwater Auto Parts & Salvage owners Jeff Eaton and Travis Geis lost their business on May 9th. The smoke and flames were visible from Interstate 94. GoFundMe page organizer Heather Alama says they’re hoping to raise $30,000 for a portable office to keep operating while they work on rebuilding the shop. Donations would also pay employee wages while the mechanic shop is closed.
Alma says, “Jeff and Travis are amazing men who would give you the shirt off their back if you needed it, and now they need our help to work to rebuild their company.”
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office says the fire was started accidentally by employees working on a vehicle in the garage. According to reports, a gas tank was removed and fell from a lift. There were no injuries.
