(KNSI) — The summer driving season is just around the corner, and experts with AAA say gas prices are “treading water for now.”
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in Minnesota is $3.43. That’s down around four cents from a week ago and 16 cents lower than a month ago. St. Cloud is significantly cheaper at $3.30 a gallon versus $3.60 a month ago.
Demand for gas is higher, but costs for oil canceled out any potential increases for per gallon costs. “Increasing demand for gasoline would usually drive pump prices higher,” said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson, “but the cost for oil has remained low lately, so drivers should benefit from stable pump prices as Memorial Day drawers near.”
On June 14th, 2022, gas hit an all time record of almost $4.77 a gallon.
