(KNSI) – A popular Waite Park restaurant only has seating for the fish after the Sauk River overflowed over the weekend.
Anton’s Restaurant closed on Friday after the famous popovers started floating. Water began seeping into the building when the river hit moderate flood stage, which is seven feet. The Sauk was around 8.09 feet and holding at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. It’s unclear when the restaurant will reopen.
A flood warning remains in effect for the Sauk River. There is also a warning for the Mississippi River south of St. Cloud and the Crow River near Delano and Rockford.
