(KNSI) — A Sauk Centre man is in custody after a roughly six hour long standoff.
According to the criminal complaint, at about 1:40 p.m. on April 13th, police were called to a domestic assault at a home in Sauk Centre Township. The person said 43-year-old Brian Lemley flipped over a new TV, used a hatchet to take out a chunk of the counter, and threatened him with a knife. Police responded, and Lemley went into the garage, closed the door and refused to respond to police. Officers tried to enter the house, but all the doors were locked. The SWAT team responded, and a window was broken with a phone thrown inside. Negotiators worked with Lemley, and he came out of the house through the broken window just after 7:20 and was arrested. The complaint says as he was being taken to jail, he asked to be let out of the car and said he would never do drugs again.
He has been charged with felony threats of violence and felony domestic assault.
