(KNSI) – The spring athletic season is underway for one area team. Cathedral High School Varsity Girl’s Softball hosted Little Falls on the campus of the College of St. Benedict at the turf field under perfect conditions on Tuesday.
The Crusaders took down the Flyers 11-1 in five innings. A youth movement led the way. Freshmen Tayla Vought and Sam Dingmann each had two RBIs. 8th grader Kyah Koenig reached base twice on a pair of hits and Mckenna Buckentine had a couple of knocks too.
Cathedral fast pitch’s next scheduled game is not until next week. Grass facilities like Whitney Park, the Municipal Athletic Complex for baseball, and River’s Edge Park in Waite Park are still soggy from the late melting snow pack.
