(KNSI) — A 20-year-old St. Cloud man was seriously injured in a crash Friday night in Millwood Township.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says they were called to the 31200 block of Birch Valley Road in Millwood Township northeast of Melrose on the south side of Big Birch Lake just before midnight. They say it appears the driver Daniel Kapsner lost control of his car and drove off the road, hitting a tree. He was not seriously hurt.
The passenger, Jake Jurek, was trapped inside the car and had to be extricated. He was taken to hospital for treatment of a serious injury to his leg.
Both were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash, which is still under investigation.
