(KNSI) — The Central Minnesota Mental Health Center has a new way for those in crisis to connect to help quickly.
CMMHC and the United Way of Central Minnesota have launched a new 1-800 number for people suffering from critical mental health issues and for substance abuse care. A crisis navigator will immediately assess a person or a family’s needs. They are then put in touch with local support services and resources.
The CMMHC says navigators can eliminate barriers and increase access with a care coordination approach by providing referrals, advice, or guidance to get help.
Call 1-800-635-8008 or 320-253-5555 for help.
The National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is also available 24/7 by calling 988. Veterans can call that number and press 1.
