(KNSI) — There is a chance Monday afternoon for people to become trained storm spotters for Stearns County.

The National Weather Service and Skywarn are putting on the class at St. Cloud State University. Participants will learn to identify storm structure and intensity, signs of tornado development, how to safely spot and monitor storms and how to provide spotter reports.

Classes typically run for two to two and a half hours.

The class starts at 5:00 p.m. inside the Wick Science Building, room 114. The building is located at 825 1st Avenue South.

The class is free and open to anyone interested in helping their communities. For more information, contact Rachel Humphrey by clicking here.

If you can’t make it to the class, online training is coming up on April 24th at 1:00.
