(KNSI) – Highway 301, also known as Minnesota Boulevard, in St. Cloud will be closed near the correctional facility beginning on Monday, April 17th.

The road work between Highway 10 and 15th Avenue SE is expected to last until September. A detour uses 15th Avenue running towards the railroad tracks and Lincoln Avenue.

The $4 million project will involve repaving, restoration of the retaining wall on the north side of the boulevard that marks the edge of the prison grounds, and updating storm sewers and the roadside drainage system.

For those who live, visit, or work at the jail, access will be maintained with flag control. Additional work will be taking place on Highway 10 at the Highway 23 interchange about two miles away.
